This device works. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, mostly in my yard or from inside the house when my dog starts barking at people walking by or at my neighbor outside. I can’t hear the sound it makes, but my dog clearly can. He usually stops mid-bark, probably out of curiosity, but it’s enough to break the barking cycle. The range seems reliable up to the length of my front yard (around 20–25 feet), even through an open doorway.
